Three of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) focus on health. They include reducing maternal mortality, reducing child mortality and combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.

Kenya needs to improve maternal health and reduce the number of children who die before their 5th birthday. The foundation recognises that for many Kenyans, access to affordable or specialised healthcare is a challenge; hence our response has been to partner with health service providers and communities to increase access to healthcare services.

Interventions that the Foundation supports include: donation of ambulances and equipment for health centres and hospitals; provision of medical care through mobile clinics; supporting preventive health campaigns through information, education and screening facilities; supporting counselling and specialised treatment for women with fistula and survivors of sexual and gender based violence.

Through these initiatives the Foundation contributes towards reducing health inequalities by promoting access to healthcare.

Many communities in East Africa still lack access to affordable and quality healthcare. The Foundation has supported the construction and equipping of health facilities, partnered to deliver healthcare to communities through mobile medical camps and created awareness on health and wellbeing. Thousands of people now have access to healthcare through community initiatives supported by the Foundation.
